Public Records Requests

In accordance with the amended Commonwealth of Massachusetts Public Records Law, Chapter 121 of the Acts of 2016, the Oxford Public Schools has designated the below individual as the Records Access Officer (RAO), the individual who is responsible for responding to Public Records Requests. The duties of the Records Access Officer (RAO) are established by statute and include:

  • Coordinating responses to requests for access to public records;
  • Assisting individuals seeking public records in identifying the records requested;
  • Assisting the custodian of records in preserving public records; and
  • Preparing guidelines that enable requestors to make informed requests.

Requested public records will be permitted for inspection within 10 business days, or copies furnished in an electronic format within 10 business days, unless the record is not available in an electronic format or the requestor does not have the ability to receive or access the records in a useable electronic format.

The RAO may determine that a fee will be assessed to respond to a request; if this is the case, a good faith estimate will be provided to the requestor for the production of the records along with a reasonable time frame for when the records will be provided. For questions or additional information, please contact the Superintendent's Office.
