Athletics
Overview
Oxford High School fields 16 boys and girls teams during the school year at the Varsity and Junior Varsity levels. There is a user fee for student-athletes to participate on our athletic teams. People seeking more information about the Oxford High athletic program should contact the Athletic Director, Kevin May. All contact information for the Athletic Director and coaches can be found in the "Coach Contacts" section to the right.
The cost to participate for a single student-athlete in a sport is on a sliding scale. The fees are as follows:
Participation
Candidates for any Oxford High athletic team must hand in a participation form, complete and sign the concussion protocol, and have an up-to-date physical exam on record with the school nurse to be eligible to try out for a team.
User Fees
User fees will be collected at the completion of tryouts. Payment can be made in the "Registration" section to the right.
First sport: $100
Second sport: $ 50
Third sport: $ 0 (Free)
There is a family cap of $300 per family. User fees must be paid after tryouts are completed but before the first official game/contest/match.
Physicals
All student-athletes must have an up-to-date physical exam, not only for tryouts but for the duration of the season. An up-to-date physical exam is one that was completed within the last thirteen (13) months and clears the student-athlete for participation within the sport and related sports activities. A student-athlete will become ineligible if the latest physical exam occurred beyond thirteen (13) months and one (1) day or later.
