9/3 Barton Family Update

Hello Barton Families!
Before the long weekend gets underway, a few pieces of information to keep things running smoothly!
Play dates between students are great and are encouraged! However, the school bus is provided to bring students to their home as listed in Powerschool only (unless a form is submitted and a daycare is accepted by our transportation director in Central Office).
Don't forget your back to school forms: handbook sign off at the bottom of this post, Electronic Permission to Release Student's Name and Image (for news articles, etc) by clicking here, and Parent Agreement of Student Use of Technology by clicking here. Thank you to everyone who has already completed their forms!
In alignment with our School handbook, please remember smartphones and watches are not allowed in school. They should be stowed safely in backpacks throughout the day. Similarly, squishies are being used as toys which are not allowed. Several have also broken and damaged classroom carpets. Thank you for your help in keeping these items at home.
We always have free grab and go breakfast items available for students to take back to their rooms to eat- however, no outside food/drink allowed (Sorry- no N&Js, Dunkin, etc.).'
With the 25th Anniversary of 9/11 taking place this year, the Oxford Department of Public Works would like to spearhead “Do a Good Deed Day” as per 911day.org . To help with this, Clara Barton will host a food drive with the collection going to the local food bank. If your family would like to participate, please send in non-perishable food items starting on Tuesday and students can place them in the boxes by the main office. On 9/11 DPW will send a truck to school to pick up the donated items.
We know things happen at home that can affect a student during the school day. Feel free to send along a Handle With Care message- no details needed- to teachers should your student be in need of a little extra Tender Loving Care on any given day. Also, feel free to reach out to guidance or administration if you would like to explore additional supports. Contact information is listed at the bottom of this post!

Shout Out a Teacher...
As they year gets under way, any time you'd like to share a great experience you or your child has with a staff member, consider clicking on or scanning the QR code below to send an anonymous message of thanks to your child's teacher from you. (We share with the staff member and the Superintendent's office any time we receive one!) It really goes a long way in filling their cup and making the days bright!
Contact InformationReaching out to your child’s teacher directly is the best place to start when you have questions or concerns! Parent Square is a great way to connect, but please remember that staff are focused on the students in front of them throughout the day, and cannot always respond right away- expect a response within 24 hours. If there is an immediate need, please reach out to Mrs. Mayo in the main office who will be able to help you- (508) 987-6066. Here are some other key staff members you may want to reach out to:
Guidance/504: Leah Roffo lroffo@oxps.org
Assistant Principal: Maureen Remington mremington@oxps.org
Principal: Anna Hill ahill@oxps.org
Educare Direct Line: (508) 735-2256
Thank you for partnering with us to help the students of Oxford learn and grow!
